Today on the table: a mallard duck hen from my husband’s very first duck hunt.
It was also my first time ever skinning a duck and… let me just say this much: there will not be a full-body mount happening here 😂😅.
BUT — I absolutely nailed skinning out the head! I went in with zero clue what I was doing and still managed to get the wings, neck and face done perfectly.
Not bad for a first practice run and for finally discovering what’s hiding underneath that feather dress.
Always interesting (and a bit wild) to try new things, learn, experiment, and grow. 🪶✨
